Supported Employment

SCACL’s Supported Employment program offers both community and in-house employment and training opportunities that allow individuals to develop employment skills. Employers in the community are approached with the goal of designing mutually beneficial employment opportunities. The program offers support to the Employer and job coaching to the individual where necessary. SCACL currently supports more than twenty individuals in forty job placements in the program. The program also offers “Job Club”, a facilitated social connection support group that meets bi-weekly to discuss work habits, and skill development that can improve employability. Participants are referred by Community Living B.C. Refer to CLBC’s ‘Information for Families on Employment’ pamphlet for more info. SCACL also partners with Persephone Farms Ltd. to offer unique job opportunities and employment training on a working farm and brewery.
